If you have a passion for history, a desire to support the preservation of pharmacy in Indiana, or just want to have fun and experience something new, we have a volunteer opportunity for you!
There are many ways to volunteer at the museum, and no experience is required! Assist visitors as they immerse themselves in the sights, smells, and sounds of a fully furnished 1890’s era Indiana drugstore. We invite you to explore the many ways you can become part of this exciting and educational institution.
Care must be given to the careful handling of the museum’s collection to ensure it stays in top condition. Volunteers periodically set-up and move artifact displays, make small repairs when needed, and assist keeping our artifacts and displays presentable.
Museum area Docent/Interpreters welcome visitors, and offer quick bits of information and history, demonstrate historic tools of pharmacy, or just listen as people describe their memories Hook’s or Drugstores they remember growing up. We provide training materials, no medical or pharmacy background is required.
